Our mission is to make trains even more attractive by offering frequent, reliable, cost effective and low carbon transportation, contributing to the broader goal of transitioning from road to rail.

Futurail is developing a complete stack. Our products, Detect, Localize and Signal, cover the perception, positioning and signalling interpretation a vehicle needs to unlock autonomous operations. Detect senses the track ahead and the surrounding environment, identifying obstacles, people and objects. Localize determines where the vehicle is on the network, including which track it occupies. Signal reads and interprets lineside signals and signage. The three work as one system on a shared sensor and compute platform.

We reach main line autonomy step by step. Each step is a certifiable increment that adds complexity to both the operating environment and the solution, and each one delivers value on its own. Driver assistance comes first. The driver stays responsible while the system acts as a warning layer, which raises safety from day one. Depots follow, in a controlled environment. The benefit here is immediate, because depot movements are dangerous work on unattractive shift patterns. Branch lines come next, where line complexity is bounded and the operational case is strongest. Sequencing the roadmap this way lets us develop and certify the system incrementally while staying aligned with our customers on the use case and the benefit of every step. Partnering with leading operators and rolling stock manufacturers, we retrofit existing fleets and integrate into new vehicle developments.
