H2 DRON ENERGY
Electric energy propulsion system using hydrogen fuel cells for drones
The aim of the project is to bring to market a hybrid hydrogen fuel cell power generation system for use in drones. This enables more efficient and cost-effective missions by increasing flight times and minimising recharging, with a zero carbon footprint.
They worked on technological developments to optimise the performance of fuel cells, developing a functional design methodology for the entire system that allows us to achieve the optimal sizing of components and improve operational efficiency through the power management logic we have developed.
The project augment capabilities with hydrogen generation, storage, compression and refuelling solutions.
All these capabilities make us unique in the market as we offer technology implementation solutions for the entire value chain compared to component manufacturers.
We chose the drone sector because of the disruptive benefits this technology offers (increased flight times compared to batteries, ease of recharging and reduced thermal and noise footprint and maintenance). It is a critically important and exponentially growing sector and the costs make it profitable.
The expertise developed allows us to enter other existing light mobility markets (motorbikes, marine drones, warehouse robots, etc.), as well as air taxis and their infrastructures in vertiports in the future.
